I love anything cajun, especially if it's pasta.
This recipe is simple enough for a novice to cook, if you can find deveined shrimp.
It's one of my favorites and I crave it. A man can catch a woman with this, just be sure she doesn't have a shrimp allergy!

Angelic Cajun shrimp pasta
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 clove garlic pressed
24 fresh large shrimp peeled & deveined, rinsed and dry
1 pkg your choice noodles, either fettucine or angel hair at my place!
2 jars newmans Alfredo sauce
liquid crab boil
cajun seasoning, slap ya mama or tonys in my kitchen ;)
lemon
Half & half to taste
Parmesan cheese, Italian cheese , cheddar ( all to taste -- medium
sprinkle)

Shrimp seasoning:
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp of each black pepper, cayenne pepper,dried parsley flakes, garlic powder
1/8 tsp of each dried Tyme, onion powder blend all spices in a small bowl for shrimp.

Get one gallon of water boiling for pasta. Add 1-2 caps of liquid crab boil, spritz with olive oil to prevent sticking and a shake of Cajun seasoning. Bring to boil and hold til shrimp sauce is ready.

Preheat large skillet over medium heat. Add butter to pan. When it's melted stir in the garlic. Immediately add the Shrimp. Cut 1/4 lemon and squeeze into pan over shrimp. Sprinkle entire seasoning blend over the shrimp give it a good stir. Sauté shrimp 5/8 mins until they begin to brown. Be sure to cook both sides.

Once brown remove shrimp from skillet but keep sauce. Add half & half to Pam to incorporate sauce. Over medium heat Add 2 jars of Alfredo, season with Cajun spice , fresh black pepper and cheeses. This is to taste. Don't over salt. Use half & half to get the sauce to your favored consistency ,keep on low. Add shrimp to sauce the last 2 mins of cooking .

Boil noodles 7-10 mins drain. Pour sauce over noodles. Serve with warm baguettes sliced thick.
Feeds 4/6 or can be frozen

I'm on Artfire..

You will be able to find all of my newest paintings, prints and fun funky stuff at my new ArtFire storefront. I was able to complete the job in about 4 months. It was a huge challenge to paint such a large volume and under a time frame but I love a good challenge.

Unfortunately I've been absent for quite awhile. Over the last 10 months I've been through alot personally and I've had to cut back on many activities. In Dec 09 my precious Daddy died unexpectedly. He wasn't ill so it was devasting to our family. I guess I internalized alot of my pain because in January I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery. The surgery didn't remedy the problem and now, finally in August I've been able to eat without pain. In the midst of all this my oldest daughter moved out, and I have missed her terribly.

I'm an eternal optimist though and I know life hands us both good and bad. So once again I'm ready to get back into the swing of blogging! Fortunately during all this chaos I've been able to keep my art alive and thriving.

If you'd like to follow me on FaceBook, you can join my fan page HERE!
I list all kinds of special insider offers to my FB followers.

Wishing u peace, love and lots of lemon pie!
A

Happy 4th of July!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F7g04NDlh10/SG5sco4MuXI/AAAAAAAAAHA/6xJGlS1qpsc/s320/july4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219228257434253682" />
Just wanted to wish all my friends, family and wonderful collectors a happy 4th of July. Having lived abroad for 7 years, I appreciate the US! It's wonderful to be able to worship freely, voice your opinion and have your vote count! Also we are blessed beyond measure when it comes to health, and economicly as well. Even with sky high gas prices, this is still the most wonderful country in the world. Anyway, just a bit of reflection on such an important day!

The art business has been keeping me very busy, along with summer and all that it brings. Lots of new art in the works, more on that soon. It's been high time to update. I'll be in touch soon, but until then enjoy the holiday!

My art in the movie Microwave Park

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F7g04NDlh10/SETdQaKEvdI/AAAAAAAAAG4/0hnClqTnUYU/s320/films-microwavepark.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207530343116357074" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F7g04NDlh10/SETbu19k07I/AAAAAAAAAGw/jN73k0YuV0k/s320/valkilmer.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207528666952946610" />

I wanted to let everyone in on a bit of exciting news for me.. 4 of my art prints were recently chosen to be on set in the new movie "Microwave Park". Some actors you may recognize on the cast, like Val Kilmer, Sharon Stone, 50 cent..looks exciting to me. The movie is being filmed in Shreveport, La and New Orleans. The plot is about a police officer during Katrina. So they chose me to represent our beloved Nawlins by hanging some of my work in one of the homes that will be used for a set. I couldn't be more pleased..

You can find out more about the movie here.. movie info
and here is another article

I'm excited about this opportunity and will keep you updated once we have a release date. This is very exciting news for my collectors as it once again raises the level of the value of my work.

On another note, lots to be done around here. Trying to prepare for the show coming up on Thursday and also get some commissioned works completed. All the while trying to enjoy the family and a good louisiana summer.

8x10 New Orleans Matted Prints On Sale!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F7g04NDlh10/R_9wF587ffI/AAAAAAAAAGo/5KNKhbdiZVc/s320/blkpinkprincess8x10.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187988542512135666" />

It's been a really busy week, with our travel back from Baton Rouge. I'm in the studio today packing up paintings, delivering and all from our show at the gallery before we left. I really enjoyed the trip, it was a whirlwind, and hectic but seemed to make a great impact for a good cause. I thought this information might be valuable to you.

> Hi Angel,>> I’m really interested in several of your pieces. I’m not sure which way> to go between paintings vs prints on canvas (remarqued edition). Although> the description of the prints on canvas (remarqued edition) sounds like I> wouldn’t be disappointed, what would be some negatives compared to> original paintings?>> Happy Mardi Gras,> Martin
Hi Martin-Thanks so much for your email. I appreciate your interest in my art. Hereare the pro’s and con’s of prints on canvas vs. an original painting.

Obviously an original painting is considered an investment that shouldappreciate each year as an artist continues to mature and expand their artcareer. Originals are more “collectable” meaning they would be the bestreturn for your money if an artist were to be later discovered as one of thegreat masters of their time. ( Like Pollock, Van Gogh, Matisse or Picasso)Resale value of artwork is much higher if you own an original.
Now while Iam not going to say I am the next Picasso, my career has been advancing and my work is becoming more valuable, causing higher demand. Of course, this also means the prices for originals increases as my career expands each year. Getting in on earlier work means you may be able to get a better price than waiting over the course of time, thus allowing you to snag a true jewel that will be worth so much more as time goes on.

Prints on Canvas offer a wonderful option for the collector who isn’t aserious art investor/collector. My giclee prints on canvas are archival for100 years and are color corrected to be as vibrant as the original. We use avery reputable printer, who prints each giclee individually instead of “massproducing”. The prints are on stretcher bars, so the appearance is one that looks just like an original painting on canvas. Each print on canvas is sealed with a sealant to protect the giclee. Another added value of purchasing a print on canvas as while they look just like an original, the cost is much more affordable. This allows my collectors to be able to start a collection of my work, and purchase several of their favorites to quickly amass a grouping.
If you just love my art for the art’s sake, this is a great way to go. I personally can not distinguish between the original and a print on canvas from across the room.
Remarquing takes a giclee to the next level, by having the artist actually hand embellish the print by painting on it. This adds originality, makes the giclee more unique and also enhances collectibility by having the artist place their “dna” on the piece making it more desirable. A good remarque also adds emphasis to the highlights of thework, further blurring the line between an original and a giclee.

All in all, the decision basically boils down to the collector. Many of my collectors only prefer to purchase originals simply because they desire to have an original painting. Others enjoy collecting prints on canvas due to the affordability . The bottom line is it really just depends on what youwant, both are a great option.

If you need anymore help- please feel free to email me. I’d love to help youmake the process as easy as possible!

Take care,
Angel
