Angelic Cajun Shrimp Pasta Recipe

One of my hobbies is cooking, oh and of course eating what I cook. I love anything cajun, especially if it's pasta.
This recipe is simple enough for a novice to cook, if you can find deveined shrimp.
It's one of my favorites and I crave it. A man can catch a woman with this, just be sure she doesn't have a shrimp allergy!

Angelic Cajun shrimp pasta
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 clove garlic pressed
24 fresh large shrimp peeled & deveined, rinsed and dry
1 pkg your choice noodles, either fettucine or angel hair at my place!
2 jars newmans Alfredo sauce
liquid crab boil
cajun seasoning, slap ya mama or tonys in my kitchen ;)
lemon
Half & half to taste
Parmesan cheese, Italian cheese , cheddar ( all to taste -- medium
sprinkle)

Shrimp seasoning:
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp of each black pepper, cayenne pepper, dried parsley flakes, garlic powder
1/8 tsp of each dried Tyme, onion powder blend all spices in a small bowl for shrimp.

Get one gallon of water boiling for pasta. Add 1-2 caps of liquid crab boil, spritz with olive oil to prevent sticking and a shake of Cajun seasoning. Bring to boil and hold til shrimp sauce is ready.

Preheat large skillet over medium heat. Add butter to pan. When it's melted stir in the garlic. Immediately add the Shrimp. Cut 1/4 lemon and squeeze into pan over shrimp. Sprinkle entire seasoning blend over the shrimp give it a good stir. Sauté shrimp 5/8 mins until they begin to brown. Be sure to cook both sides.

Once brown remove shrimp from skillet but keep sauce. Add half & half to Pam to incorporate sauce. Over medium heat Add 2 jars of Alfredo, season with Cajun spice , fresh black pepper and cheeses. This is to taste. Don't over salt. Use half & half to get the sauce to your favored consistency ,keep on low. Add shrimp to sauce the last 2 mins of cooking .

Boil noodles 7-10 mins drain. Pour sauce over noodles. Serve with warm baguettes sliced thick.
Feeds 4/6 or can be frozen

I'm on Artfire..

You will be able to find all of my newest paintings, prints and fun funky stuff at my new ArtFire storefront. You can take a visit by clicking HERE.

I've recently finished a huge commission job of 24 original paintings for a local Doctor's office. I was able to complete the job in about 4 months. It was a huge challenge to paint such a large volume and under a time frame but I love a good challenge.

Unfortunately I've been absent for quite awhile. Over the last 10 months I've been through alot personally and I've had to cut back on many activities. In Dec 09 my precious Daddy died unexpectedly. He wasn't ill so it was devasting to our family. I guess I internalized alot of my pain because in January I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery. The surgery didn't remedy the problem and now, finally in August I've been able to eat without pain. In the midst of all this my oldest daughter moved out, and I have missed her terribly.

I'm an eternal optimist though and I know life hands us both good and bad. So once again I'm ready to get back into the swing of blogging! Fortunately during all this chaos I've been able to keep my art alive and thriving.
