Angelic Cajun Shrimp Pasta Recipe

One of my hobbies is cooking, oh and of course eating what I cook. I love anything cajun, especially if it's pasta.
This recipe is simple enough for a novice to cook, if you can find deveined shrimp.
It's one of my favorites and I crave it. A man can catch a woman with this, just be sure she doesn't have a shrimp allergy!

Angelic Cajun shrimp pasta
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 clove garlic pressed
24 fresh large shrimp peeled & deveined, rinsed and dry
1 pkg your choice noodles, either fettucine or angel hair at my place!
2 jars newmans Alfredo sauce
liquid crab boil
cajun seasoning, slap ya mama or tonys in my kitchen ;)
lemon
Half & half to taste
Parmesan cheese, Italian cheese , cheddar ( all to taste -- medium
sprinkle)

Shrimp seasoning:
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp of each black pepper, cayenne pepper, dried parsley flakes, garlic powder
1/8 tsp of each dried Tyme, onion powder blend all spices in a small bowl for shrimp.

Get one gallon of water boiling for pasta. Add 1-2 caps of liquid crab boil, spritz with olive oil to prevent sticking and a shake of Cajun seasoning. Bring to boil and hold til shrimp sauce is ready.

Preheat large skillet over medium heat. Add butter to pan. When it's melted stir in the garlic. Immediately add the Shrimp. Cut 1/4 lemon and squeeze into pan over shrimp. Sprinkle entire seasoning blend over the shrimp give it a good stir. Sauté shrimp 5/8 mins until they begin to brown. Be sure to cook both sides.

Once brown remove shrimp from skillet but keep sauce. Add half & half to Pam to incorporate sauce. Over medium heat Add 2 jars of Alfredo, season with Cajun spice , fresh black pepper and cheeses. This is to taste. Don't over salt. Use half & half to get the sauce to your favored consistency ,keep on low. Add shrimp to sauce the last 2 mins of cooking .

Boil noodles 7-10 mins drain. Pour sauce over noodles. Serve with warm baguettes sliced thick.
Feeds 4/6 or can be frozen

I'm on Artfire..

You will be able to find all of my newest paintings, prints and fun funky stuff at my new ArtFire storefront. You can take a visit by clicking HERE.

I've recently finished a huge commission job of 24 original paintings for a local Doctor's office. I was able to complete the job in about 4 months. It was a huge challenge to paint such a large volume and under a time frame but I love a good challenge.

Unfortunately I've been absent for quite awhile. Over the last 10 months I've been through alot personally and I've had to cut back on many activities. In Dec 09 my precious Daddy died unexpectedly. He wasn't ill so it was devasting to our family. I guess I internalized alot of my pain because in January I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery. The surgery didn't remedy the problem and now, finally in August I've been able to eat without pain. In the midst of all this my oldest daughter moved out, and I have missed her terribly.

I'm an eternal optimist though and I know life hands us both good and bad. So once again I'm ready to get back into the swing of blogging! Fortunately during all this chaos I've been able to keep my art alive and thriving.

If you'd like to follow me on FaceBook, you can join my fan page HERE!
I list all kinds of special insider offers to my FB followers.

Wishing u peace, love and lots of lemon pie!

Happy 4th of July!

Just wanted to wish all my friends, family and wonderful collectors a happy 4th of July. Having lived abroad for 7 years, I appreciate the US! It's wonderful to be able to worship freely, voice your opinion and have your vote count! Also we are blessed beyond measure when it comes to health, and economicly as well. Even with sky high gas prices, this is still the most wonderful country in the world. Anyway, just a bit of reflection on such an important day!

The art business has been keeping me very busy, along with summer and all that it brings. Lots of new art in the works, more on that soon. It's been high time to update. I'll be in touch soon, but until then enjoy the holiday!

My art in the movie Microwave Park

I wanted to let everyone in on a bit of exciting news for me.. 4 of my art prints were recently chosen to be on set in the new movie "Microwave Park". Some actors you may recognize on the cast, like Val Kilmer, Sharon Stone, 50 cent..looks exciting to me. The movie is being filmed in Shreveport, La and New Orleans. The plot is about a police officer during Katrina. So they chose me to represent our beloved Nawlins by hanging some of my work in one of the homes that will be used for a set. I couldn't be more pleased..

You can find out more about the movie here.. movie info
and here is another article

I'm excited about this opportunity and will keep you updated once we have a release date. This is very exciting news for my collectors as it once again raises the level of the value of my work.

On another note, lots to be done around here. Trying to prepare for the show coming up on Thursday and also get some commissioned works completed. All the while trying to enjoy the family and a good louisiana summer.

Great Show last night at the Art Crawl

We had a wonderful turn out last night for our April Art Crawl. I wanted to thank everyone for being so willing to come and support me personally, as well as the other artist. Our intentions are to create awareness in our local community and help many creative people gain exposure as well as a sense of community.

Our local newspaper did a great job of getting the word out about our downtown art renaissance.. you can view the article here. I personally want to thank all my collectors for your positive influence and your commitment to help me keep the gallery alive and well. Brad Arender also deserves kudos for spearheading such a wonderful active art movement..
